How actions are verified
Funding is allocated only for verified actions — not for clicks, views, or pending submissions. Here's exactly what it takes for each action type to count.
Donation
You complete payment through Stripe's secure checkout.
Stripe sends a payment confirmation to Act Now automatically.
A 14 day buffer applies before sponsor funding is allocated — this protects against refunds or chargebacks. Your donation reaches the charity directly through Stripe, with no buffer.
Petition / signature
You submit the petition form — your signature shows as pending immediately.
A confirmation email is sent to the address you provided.
Click the link in that email to confirm. Only confirmed signatures count toward progress and sponsor funding.
Didn't get the email? Check your spam folder. The confirmation link expires after 7 days.
Signup / pledge
You submit the signup or pledge form.
A confirmation email is sent to verify your address.
Click the link to confirm. Unconfirmed signups are not counted toward progress or funding allocation.
Event participation
You register or check in for the event.
The charity reviews and approves attendance records in their dashboard.
Once approved by the charity, your participation is marked verified and counts toward funding allocation.
Why verification matters: Sponsor funding is only allocated for verified actions — this protects the integrity of every campaign and ensures that money moves because of real impact, not bots or unconfirmed submissions.
